Patriotism lost

Rebirth of a Realist
It seems like just yesterday when I was an enthusiastic, patriotic American looking forward to a wonderful peaceful future.

As the song goes,’ Oh what a feeling.’

That was when my parents were so proud of the two star banner that hung in a front window ......the banner that told everyone their sons were in the war against fascism.

The people elected FDR four times. He was our president for more than twelve years. The people trusted him , the people respected him, and the people loved him.

In the face of all the hardship, Americans then still felt positive about the American dream.

Since the death of Franklin Roosevelt, lawyer-legislators have been tearing down the structure he built to protect America from the robber barons and to keep America on an even political keel.

Since 1948, America has been pushed further and further to the extreme right, bringing us to the brink of disaster that we find ourselves in today.

We have become an occupier nation, feared and hated the world over.

The question remains: IS THERE TIME FOR REALISTS TO SAVE THE SOUL OF AMERICA?
To the young I say again, it is your world, you must answer that question now.
